On June 19, 1951, Dorothy and Kenneth C. Lockwood were married in a ceremony that took place in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The date of the wedding was June 19. They went to North Bend, Nebraska, after some time had passed, and it was there that they would eventually buy the North Bend Eagle Newspaper, which they would go on to govern between the years 1964 and 1971. After some time, they moved away from North Bend and settled somewhere else. After relocating to Fremont with her family in 1971, Dorothy found work as a cook for the Fremont Public Schools, where she remained worked for a period of 20 years.
Dorothy J. Lockwood, who had spent her entire life in Fremont, Nebraska and had reached the age of 79 when she passed away on January 20, 2012 at Nye Legacy, which is located in Fremont as well, had spent her entire life there. On May 20th, 1932, Dorothy Rowell was born in Auburn, Nebraska, to her parents, Jay and Gladys (Sievers) Rowell. Her birth took place in Auburn. Gladys (Sievers) was her grandma on her mother’s side. When she was a little child, she and her family uprooted and moved to the Waterloo, Nebraska area from the Auburn, Nebraska region, where they had been residing previously.
In addition, she was employed at Camp Calvin Crest during this time period. Additionally, at that time period, she was employed at Camp Calvin Crest. She was a regular attendee of the worship services held at the Fremont Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the congregation of the church. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, as well as her two sons, Frank Lockwood and his wife, Amy Lockwood, all of Page. Also surviving her is her daughter-in-law, Mary Lockwood. Mary Lockwood, who was her daughter-in-law, also managed to outlive her.
